Tarantino has been a Bad Bad Boy

The Italian press is very unhappy with how the Venice Film Festival’s biggest prizes were handed out this year.

Old Jury president Quentin Tarantino seemingly awarded these prizes mostly to close personal friends.

Quentin awarded the Golden Lion to his former squeeze Sofia Coppola (the daughter everyone hated from Godfather 3.

Not only that he also gave his friend Alex de la Iglesia two prizes, including the Silver Lion for best director, for his film “Balada Triste de Trompeta (A Sad Trumpet Ballad).”
As well as awarding his mentor Monte Hellman with a special career prize created by the jury.

Paolo Mereghetti, chief film critic for Correre della Sera, Italy’s largest newspaper wrote the following:

“The presidency of Quentin Tarantino runs the risk of turning into the most obvious conflict of interest possible if you remember that ‘Somewhere’ and [Hellman's] ‘Road to Nowhere’ were charming and interesting in their own ways, but nothing more than that,” wrote Paolo Mereghetti, chief film critic for Correre della Sera, Italy’s largest newspaper.

Tarantino denies all charges, and so he should! If he had given Sofia an award for her acting skills in Godfather 3, then we would have all been in trouble.
