Nascar team owner Jack Roush was in a terrible plane crash last night at Wittman Air Field in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Roush who is co -owner of Roush Racing was landing his Hawker Beechcraft Premier jet when the crash took place around 6:15 p.m. local time.

He was taken to a local hospital and was listed in serious, but stable condition. As an aviator enthusiast he was flying his own plane and could not control the jet on landing.

He was in town for the annual Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture.

The EAA released a statement on its website saying Brenda Strickland of Plymouth, Michigan was also on the plane.

Both occupants exited the aircraft following the accident and have non-life threatening injuries. “There are injuries. Possible surgery,” Roush Fenway Racing president Geoff Smith said in a text message to The Associated Press. “But he walked out of the plane.”

The EAA said the NTSB is leading the investigation into the accident.
